 Our Department Vision:

A thinking and innovative ICT- school culture with a tradition of excellence and global outlook

Our Mission :

To empower all pupils and staff to harness the vast possibilities of ICT and use ICT to enrich and enhance the curriculum

Introduction

The rapid pace of global technological change demands greater knowledge and interaction with Information and Communications Technology (ICT). We must prepare our students to play an active role in the ICT revolution. Our aim is for all SIS students to experience engaged learning and enriched lives with the pervasive and innovative use of infocomm in preparation for work and life in the 21st century.

Basic ICT Standards for SIS Students

Basic ICT standards is a set of ICT skills developed for all SIS students from PY1 to Primary Six  to enable them to experience the necessary ICT learning experience in our school. These standards have been benchmarked against overseas ICT standards as well as curriculum and existing practices in Singapore schools. These standards are integrated into the school curriculum both in the core subject areas and project work.

ICT Programme for Upper Primary, Secondary One and Two

ICT is offered as a Life and Knowledge Skill subject for all P4 to SEC 2 pupils in SIS. It is a non-examinable subject and assessment is based mainly on mini-projects, assignments and presentations.

The ICT curriculum aims to provide our students with practical hands-on ICT experiences starting from understanding the basics of word-processing and using the internet. We offer a comprehensive and challenging curriculum that encompasses the development of critical IT skills in using different digital applications and digital-age literacy.
