Secondary

We welcome applications for Secondary One to Secondary Three. In Secondary One and Two (S1 and S2), students follow a curriculum specially adapted from the Singapore curriculum for international students in Hong Kong. In Secondary Three and Four (S3 and S4), students follow the IGCSE curriculum. We also accept applications for first year entry to the SISHK International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). All completed applications received by SISHK are considered by our Admissions Panel and we invite all applicants to attend an assessment and interview session as part of the admissions process. The admissions assessment and interview session helps the school to gauge an applicant’s language and learning abilities as well as suitability for the school’s curriculum. You can choose to apply online or to download an application form. Application deadline

For the Secondary section, we accept applications on a rolling basis with deadlines set throughout the year. We encourage applicants to apply early by 15 November in the year before the applicant is due to start. Applicants who apply by 15 November will receive priority admissions screening. For example, if you wish to apply for your child to start in August 2019, please apply by 15 November 2018.

Applications for the Secondary section are now closed for AY2018/19. Singapore citizens or Singapore permanent residents who are relocating to Hong Kong are advised to contact the Admissions Team about availability.

Priority screening will be held in December 2018 and the second round of assessments and interviews will be held in March 2019. Application process

  • Apply online. While online applications are encouraged, hard copy applications will also be accepted.
  • Ensure your application is complete and submitted to the Admissions Team. Find out how to submit an application here
  • An Admissions Panel will consider all applications received. Please note that only full and completed applications will be considered.
  • All applicants who have submitted a full and completed application will be invited to attend an assessment and interview session. This includes written assessments in English, Chinese* and Mathematics as well as interviews in English and Putonghua. The sessions help the school to assess the applicant’s learning abilities and suitability for SISHK’s curriculum.
  • Applicants will be informed about the outcome of their application after the Admissions Panel, Vice Principal and Principal have considered the outcome of the assessment and interview session.
  • Successful applicants will have to secure their place with the payment of the Personal or Corporate Debenture, Capital Levy and Entrance Fee (for personal debenture holders) by a given date. Thereafter, an email notification with specific dates and times will be sent to families to complete the enrolment process.
  • Applicants may choose to re-apply if they wish to be considered for admission in another academic year.

*Please note that the school follows a Singapore-styled curriculum and for Chinese language, the school uses Putonghua and simplified characters system for reading and writing for admissions tests and lessons.

Submitting an application

We encourage all applications to be made online where possible. You can also choose to download an application to complete and submit with all supporting documents and application fee. Please note that we can only process and consider full applications for which the all supporting documents and application fee have been submitted.

Application checklist

All application forms must be submitted with the following documents in order to be deemed as a complete application:

  • Applicant’s most recent two years’ school reports, if applicable
  • Applicant’s recent passport-sized photograph
  • Applicant’s birth certificate and identity card, if applicable
  • Applicant’s passport and Singapore re-entry permit, if applicable
  • Both parents’ identity cards and passports which shows their citizenships and signatures
  • A non-refundable application fee of HK$2,200 made payable to “The Singapore International School Foundation Limited”.

  2. Make an online payment for the non-refundable application fee of HK$2,200. An online application is successful only if both the online application form and payment transaction are completed.
  3. An email confirmation will be sent to you, along with the application number and receipt. Please use this application number for future correspondence with the Admissions Team.
  4. Print one copy of the application form with all supporting documents and mail it to the Admissions Team. An application can only be considered when the necessary documents and application fee have been received by the school.
