SISHK is looking for a full time School Counsellor to join the team. Candidate preferably should have 3 years of teaching, counselling or volunteering experience in Primary School. The position will start in August 2024.


Job responsibilities:

  • Offers counselling sessions for individual and groups to help students cope with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties
  • Conducts assessments to identify students’ needs and determine appropriate interventions
  • Manages and responds to crisis intervention within school community
  • Collaborates with teachers, parents and other students and advocate for the student’s well-being
  • Promotes and monitors Whole-School Well-Being activities and programmes
  • Keeps accurate and confidential records and documentation of counselling sessions/assessments and interventions
  • Engages in ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices, counselling therapies and relevant research


Candidates should preferably:

  • At least 3 years of full-time work experience in teaching, counselling or volunteering work involving children and youths
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A member of a professional counselling body
  • A tertiary qualification preferably in Counselling. Those without a tertiary qualification and with relevant experience/expertise may also apply
