The applicant should
- possess at least an undergraduate Honours Degree in English Language and Literature and a recognised teacher certification, i.e. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Bachelor of Education, Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent
- have a minimum of 3 years’ Secondary English Language and Literature teaching experience
- have a passion for teaching English Language and Literature to Lower Secondary students (Secondary 1 to Secondary 3/ KS3)
- speak English at a native level
- collaborate well with colleagues on curriculum and resource development matters, as well as contribute to other departmental and school needs when required
- have a strong commitment to professional development
The following qualities and experience may be advantageous but not compulsory:
- Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA or TESOL)
- Experience with teaching IGCSE and IBDP curricula
- Experience teaching students with special learning needs
