House Council
Lee Kuan Yew House (LKY) Mission Statement
LKY aims to support each other to be the best that we can be, both individually and as a group by providing opportunities for all members of the house to shine and to contribute to improving the spirit of students for the school.
David Marshall Mission Statement
Marshall House is determined to continue to be the biggest, best, and happiest house in SISHK and create a strong sense of camaraderie among its members.
Stamford Raffles Mission Statement
The Raffles House aims to provide an accepting and caring community that gives opportunities to all students for contribution and involvement as a means to develop their abilities and skill sets.
Zubir Said Mission Statement
Zubir Said House aims to contribute to the social needs of the students in the house and to provide opportunities for involvement and leadership to develop their holistic skills and abilities so as to contribute to the wider school community.

- Voting by level peers
- Co-opted based on past contribution

Selection of key positions to take place only after general members are confirmed.
Selection process of key positions is based on:
- Voting by all general members
- Interview by teachers IC and outgoing president to determine positions in the exco
Open to DP1 students only

Selection process of Heads of House is based on:
- Video submission
- Voting by all students from the house
- Interview by teachers IC and outgoing Heads of House
(Academic Performance and Past Contribution will be considered.)
Students can only belong to at most 2 of the following groups:
- 1 council (AC, CC or SC)
- 1 committee (AV, Muzé or CCC)
- House leader (Head of House or House Rep)
Notes:
Students can apply to all 3 of the abovementioned groups. If successful in all 3 applications, each student will be offered only 2 positions.
Out of the following 3 groups:
- Councils (including Houses) & Committees
- Student-Interest Groups
- CCAs
Students can hold:
- a maximum of 2 Tier 3 positions out of the 3 groups
- a maximum of 3 Tier 2 and Tier 3 positions
Application for Leadership Positions in Councils and Committees
- Submission via the application google form.
- If you are only applying for one group:
– Fill in your personal details + Select the leadership group you are applying to
– Follow the submission instructions and requirements
– Choose ‘No” for multiple applications. Submit your application.
– You should receive an automatic email acknowledging submission + summary of form details. - If there are any errors, you may edit your submission.
If you are applying to more than 1 of the following:
- Council + Committee + House Leader
– Fill in your personal details and choose the option to apply for council first.
– There will be redirect options to sign up for committee and House leader. - Committee + House Leader
– Choose the FIRST option that applies to you (there will be redirect options later in the form).
– E.g. Choose the option ‘AV’ in the first prompt, there will be an option to apply for House Rep later.
Deadline for submitting your application
- Application is open for all councils and committees from Friday 30/8.
- Deadline for submitting your application is Friday 6/9, 23:59:59.
