We are inviting applications for a Language Intervention Coach to support Upper Primary and Lower Secondary students who require targeted assistance with English language development.

 

The successful candidate will be available for approximately 5 hours per week and will support students in strengthening their vocabulary, grammatical accuracy (particularly tense agreement), reading comprehension, and confidence in spoken English and pronunciation.

 

Contract Period

  • Primary (September 2026 – May 2027):
    Tuesdays and Fridays, 3:00–4:30pm
  • Secondary (September 2026 – April 2027):
    Thursdays, 3:05–5:05pm

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised after-school language intervention sessions for Upper Primary and Lower Secondary students in person at the school campus
  • Teach classes of approximately 20 students
  • Design and implement age-appropriate, differentiated lessons for primary and secondary students
  • Support the development of reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, with an emphasis on accuracy, confidence, and foundational academic English
  • Track student progress and adapt instruction to meet learners’ needs

 

Session Details

  • 3 afternoons per week
  • Two 1.5-hour sessions a week with Upper Primary students at the Primary Campus (40 sessions in total – exact schedule will be shared at a later date)
  • One 2-hour session a week with Lower Secondary students at the Secondary Campus (20 sessions in total – exact schedule will be shared in person)
  • Excludes public and school holidays and special arrangement days as per the school calendar

 

Requirements

  • Relevant English language qualifications (e.g. English, TESOL, TEFL, Applied Linguistics, or related discipline)
  • Experience working with upper primary and/or lower secondary students
  • Familiarity with supporting language learners or students with low English proficiency
  • Strong classroom presence and the ability to engage students in structured language learning
  • A good reference, Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) and no criminal conviction check

 

Experience in language intervention, learning support, or ESL/EAL contexts will be an advantage.
